Reading 'The Success Myth' helped inspire major changes - why I'm stepping down from some of my long-time editing gigs and reevaluating what I want my career to be in my late forties and beyond
I had success early on and recognized just how much stress and interruption the responsibilities saddled with success cost me. Thank you for reviewing Gannon's book. I tire easily of the ever-constant need to monetize. I know money is important. I also know there is so much else even more tantamount to self-esteem; like truth, identity, the ability to share, being in a community of like-minded forward-thinking people, doing and being within that is the deepest, best part of self rather than the one I can make Cha-ching with.
Same, girl, same. Thanks for writing this as Emma's book completely changed my life and how I'm approaching my 2024 career.
Love this! The phrase “How much is your current version of success costing you?” - That’s a powerful thought.
