It was an honor to have you as an editor when I actually managed to write something and send it to you for publication. I'm so glad you are finding your passion again. The relationship you are building with your daughter makes me tear up because it's so sweet and so unlike my own history. Just knowing you're being so loving and conscientious with your little girl gives me enormous comfort during this mad mad mad mad mad world we have found ourselves in.
Thank you, Theresa! That means a lot. I’m so grateful to the wide erotica community I’ve gotten to be part of and still will be paying attention to, but I’m excited to move into a new professional arena. And being a mom is a constant learning curve but one I welcome. It’s hard to feel like I’m doing it right because of course we all make mistakes in every aspect of life, but it’s also an opportunity to teach her that it’s ok to make mistakes and apologize and move forward together. I mean, she doesn’t understand that yet but I hope she will as she gets older.
liz/ida provided most of the soundtrack for my movie Ramona At Midlife! we launch on streaming in 2 weeks! check us out!!!!!!!!! if you love her/the band, and you’re a mom, this is for you!!!!!!!!!!
Such a great update post, Rachel. Amazing to see all that you have going on, and I am inspired and energized by the changes you have made and the goals you have set for yourself. And all while taking on the new role of parent! How are you doing all this?!?!? Congratulations on all the new and fantastic things you are making happen, and can't wait to see how your 2025 evolves.
Thank you! I think productivity is so often in the eye of the beholder because I have a long list of essays and articles I want to write that keep getting pushed back due to other work and family commitments. Which is ok, but in my head, it never feels like enough. But I’m trying to find a balance between being proud of what I’ve done/am doing and still generating new ideas even if I don’t have time for all of them right now.
Will the Eventbrite event on May 3, 2025 be available online? I live in BC, Canada and I've followed you for many years--even attended one of your book presentations in Seattle many years ago.
I unfortunately don’t have the capacity to record video but I’m going to record as much audio as I can, with panelists’ permission, to release on a future Open Secrets podcast.

Hi Jeanne,
I unfortunately don’t have the capacity to record video but I’m going to record as much audio as I can, with panelists’ permission, to release on a future Open Secrets podcast.
Rachel
For my fellow Ida fans, they’re on Instagram (talesofbraveida) and have a free Patreon where Dan Littleton is doing deep dives on the inspiration behind some of their songs. https://www.patreon.com/posts/120986253?utm_campaign=postshare_fan
I played those Elizabeth Mitchell songs so much when my son was young - the best kid music!
same!!!!!
That would be great!
